Testing phase terms
Last updated: 5 November 2026
These terms apply to Babelcrash (called SkyBellum until November 2026) during its testing phase. By creating an account you accept them, together with the privacy policy.
Who runs the game: Federico Ferrari — [email protected]
A game in testing
Babelcrash is in development and for now is open only to people who receive an invite code. Rules, pieces and modes may change from one version to the next. The service may be interrupted, suspended or shut down at any time, even without notice.
Your game data may change
During the testing phase accounts, nicknames, Elo ratings, the leaderboard, screws and statistics may be changed, reset or deleted at any time, without notice: to fix a bug, to restart a leaderboard or because a new version requires it.
Leaderboard seasons
The online leaderboard is split into seasons, usually about three months long. The season's name and the days left until it ends are shown on the Leaderboard; we may bring forward, move or close a season at once.
At the end of every season:
- the final standings are kept in an archive and can be viewed under "Past seasons";
- the top 3 receive the Spire and everyone up to 10th place the Merlon: permanent badges that stay in later seasons too;
- everyone's Elo rating moves back towards the starting value (1000): for example 1200 becomes 1100 and 800 becomes 900;
- leaderboard matches, wins and losses start again from zero.
Medals, screws, match history and accounts do not change.
Screws and rewards
Screws (the in-game currency) and other rewards have no monetary value: they cannot be bought, sold, exchanged for money or other goods, or transferred to other accounts. They can be removed or reset like any other game data.
The reward for inviting a friend goes only to the person who invited them directly and to the friend: it never passes up to whoever invited the inviter, or further. During the test phase invitations stop at the second level: someone invited by a friend of a friend has no invitations to give, unless we make an exception.
Your account
- Your account is personal. We do not ask for an email or a phone number: to get it back on another phone you need the recovery code or a phone that is already linked.
- Keep the recovery code (or the image with the QR code) and do not give it to anyone: whoever has it can take over your account.
- If you lose both the code and every linked phone, you can write to us: if we can recognise you, we can generate a new code. That code unlinks every phone and the old one stops working.
Rules of conduct
- Choose a nickname that offends nobody and does not imitate another player or the game's staff.
- Do not cheat: no external programs, no game bugs used on purpose to win, no extra accounts to get around limits.
- Respect other players.
If these rules are broken we may change the nickname, suspend the account or delete it.
Inactive accounts
- After 90 days without access the account is archived: it leaves the leaderboard, but its data and nickname are kept. It comes back as it was the first time you return.
- After 12 months without access the account is permanently deleted, without notice: we have no way to contact you. The account, its rating and its recorded matches are deleted.
- Any access (opening the game with the account or joining an online match) starts the count again.
If the game ever offers purchases, accounts with purchases will have separate rules.
Age
Babelcrash is meant for players aged 13 and over.
Warranties
The game is provided as is, free of charge, during a testing phase. To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for the loss of game data or for interruptions of the service. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.
Changes
If we change these terms we update the date above; if the changes are significant we say so in the game. By playing after a change you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Italian law.
